Gouache and water color. Getting somewhere with these thoughts. I always enjoy it when the paper breaks through to the foreground. Balancing gestural marks and controlled flat colors. Yes, persue this!
Brushes, paints, blue gloves, and a cloth diaper. All are useful in the studio.
I like working with gouache. It doesn't tolerate too many layers. Forces me to finish a composition and leave it alone.
Another attempt... A sketch mapping out zones of color for a future composition. Assign pigments and paint by number. Aesthetics and logic should not be in opposition of one another.

Titanium white, Quinacridone magenta, Phthalo blue red shade (Acrylic paint). Mixing colors always makes me feel like an alchemist.
Work in progress- after tying together the composition with 15 simplified two color blends, things are starting to settle down. I'm approaching one of those moments where the work I have put in can 'succeed' in a balanced, 'finished' composition, or it can all fall apart back into an open undefined place.
Taking out a garage door and replacing it with a storefront for more comfort and light in the studio. Working out the details on the living room floor.
